Jill Tracy's The Bittersweet Constrain

Jill Tracy's The Bittersweet Constrain

Jill Tracy is one cool cat...Erm...Dame...She creates music with a dark Film Noir ambiance... with the Mystery of a Whodunit thrown in....Using (unsolved) murder as a metaphor for love...Or...Most often, as a metaphor for the death of love...And the idea that the loss of love, and the way that we are deceived by it, can be as excruciating as the feeling of being murdered...She weaves tales by the gossamer of her sultry, jazzy voice, and is accompanied by the piano, the violin...And the electric bass at times.  She is in the contemporary genre known as Dark Cabaret, which is also populated by the likes of The Dresden Dolls and The Tiger Lilies.

The smartest song on the Bittersweet Constrain is "Torture", which compares the torture devices of the past with the emotional pain that a lover makes one go through.
